Spaces are limited to 30 campers per week, first come first served.  The cost is $336 per week and $275 for four day weeks.  Register early to get the weeks you want.  50% payments are due on April 15 & June 15th; invoices will be available by

April 3rd.  Payments will be made through your TUIO profile.

Please ensure you read the policies and procedures listed below as well as the important camp information.

If you do not intend to return in September you must inform the daycare in writing ASAP.  Withdrawals after June 1 will incur  a charge equal to your child's September fees.

Summer Camp 2020

Camp Policies and Procedures

Hours of Operation and Arrival Times
The Daycare hours are 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.  Daily sign in is between 7:30am-9:00am.  Sign out is between 4:00pm-6:00pm.  Some trips return later than 4:00pm, these specific trip return times are noted on the calendars & trip prep form.   The school doors will be locked outside of these hours.

Drop off by 9:00am is required each day. If your child arrives after 9:00am they often have difficulty adjusting and may miss out on the scheduled activities. In addition, latecomers disrupt the children and the program already in progress. Caregivers must drop children off in Room 101 or 105 between 7:30am – 9:00am each day with all items needed and must always check in with staff before leaving the room.  This is required for attendance verification and safety reasons. If your child is late or absent, please call the room at 416-466-8715, ext. 223 for room 105, or ext 224 for room 101 to let staff know the reason and when we can expect to see them.

Before we leave the centre we ensure that all children are dressed appropriately and are thoroughly prepared for the trip. We take safety very seriously.  If your child is late and misses the trip preparation and safety discussion, they will NOT be allowed to go on the trip, even if they arrive before the group departs. On trip days, if you arrive after 9:00am you must make alternative arrangements for your child as no care will be provided for children who arrive late.

Staff will make every effort to return at the designated time; however, we are not responsible for transit or traffic delays.

Due to safety and logistical reasons, children must be dropped off and picked up at Jackman. Trip location drop-off and pick-ups are not permitted.  Please schedule appointments on In-Days as no exceptions will be made.  You must advise room staff of the specific drop-off or pick-up times.

If your child is unable to fully participate in the camp program for any reason, i.e. due to an illness or injury, then you must make other arrangements for care until they are able to return and participate in the scheduled program.

Appropriate Gear for Summer Camp
The children are very active in the summer and their clothing and footwear need to allow for safe and comfortable play. Running shoes are required every day. While sandals may be worn, they must have straps that secure the sandal to the foot.  For safety reasons flip-flops & Crocs are only allowed during water play.

T-shirts, shorts and a hat are required every day. Hats can be left in their cubby for daily use.  Depending on the day’s activities, children will also need to bring/wear a swimsuit (2 piece suits are better for girls), towel, water bottle, water shoes and a knapsack.  Remember to send underwear if your child is wearing their swimsuit at drop off.

Sunscreen is required every day and must be applied in the morning before dropping your child off.  An extra bottle of sunscreen must be labelled and kept at the daycare for application later in the day. On days when your child is going on a trip where they may be exposed to mosquitoes, you may send mosquito repellent. Please label everything.

Children must bring a lunch every day except when noted. No nuts or pop please.  Bag-lunches are required on trip days. On in-days children may use the microwave.

Alternative Summer Plans
You have received our summer calendars with the planned trips and activities. These activities and trips may have to be changed without notice. While we will make every effort to adhere to the calendar and times, we need to be sensitive to air quality, weather conditions or other factors, such as staff/child ratios, that may affect the safety of the children. Besides the obvious rain and thunderstorms, we also consider extreme smog alerts and heat advisories. In addition, we must also respond to any emergencies that arise. There are alternative trips available and we will switch to these when necessary.

Motion Sickness

If your child gets motion sick, please give them one dose of Gravol before drop off on trip days.  Please also get a note/prescription from your doctor so we can give them a second dose in the afternoon.  Additional paperwork is required as we cannot provide any medications without a prescription. Please contact the daycare office before the first trip and read our Administering Medication Policy in theParent Handbook.

Refund Policy

No refunds will be accepted after June 1, 2020.  All cancellations, changes and withdrawls must be submitted in writing.  Cancellations received by June 1, 2020 will receive a refund, minus 20% administration fee.  Cancellations received after June 1 are subject to the full fee and will not be refunded.  All changes are subject to a 20% administration fee and availability.

We have found this policy necessary due to financial losses incurred when programs are cancelled on short notice.  We invest in equipment, staffing and utilize many resources prior to the start date of your session and in most cases these costs are irrecoverable.  Despite program waitlists, filling vacancies on short notice is difficult, resource intensive and most often results in significant lost opportunity costs.
