The school year has come to a close. It is time for summer fun!
The JK room summer calendars are posted below.

Please ensure to review the trip prep form daily.

It provides more information about our days.

Summer Information
Our Summer program starts on Wednesday July 3rd and ends on Thursday August 29th. The daycare is closed on Tuesday July 2nd for summer prep, August 5th for the long weekend and August 30th for Fall prep.

Hours of Operation and Arrival Times
Monday-Friday 7:30am-6pm
Drop Off Hours - 7:30am-9:00am
Pick Up Hours- 4pm-6pm

The Daycare hours are 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Daily sign in is between 7:30am-9:00am. Sign out is between 4:00pm-6:00pm. Some trips return later than 4:00pm; these specific trip return times are noted on the calendars & trip prep form.

THE SCHOOL DOORS WILL BE LOCKED BETWEEN 9:00AM & 6:00PM. Daycare monitors entry between 4:00pm-6:00pm. Families will face delays entering the building between 9:00am-4:00pm.

Drop off by 9:00am is required every day, especially on trip days.

If your child arrives after 9:00am, they often have difficulty adjusting and may miss out on the scheduled activities and safety talk. In addition, latecomers disrupt the children and the program already in progress. Parents must drop children off in Room 107 or 107A with all items needed and must always check in with staff before leaving the room. This is required for attendance verification and safety reasons.

In accordance with our Safe Arrival and Dismissal policy, families must let the daycare know by 9:00AM if your child will be absent or late. Please call the room at 416-466-8715, ext. 222, to let staff know the reason and when we can expect to see them.

Before we leave the centre we ensure that all children are dressed appropriately and are thoroughly prepared for the trip. We take safety very seriously. If your child is late and misses the trip preparation and safety discussion, they will NOT be allowed to go on the trip, even if they arrive before the group departs. On trip days, if you arrive after the 9:00am arrival time, you must make alternative arrangements for your child as no care will be provided for children who arrive late, refunds will not be issued.

If your child is unable to fully participate in the camp program for any reason, i.e. due to an illness or injury, then you must make other arrangements for care until they are able to return and participate in the scheduled program. Children must be dropped off and picked up at Jackman. Trip location drop-off and pick-ups are not permitted.

Daily Items Needed – lunch and snacks are provided daily
Large refillable water bottle
Hat, change of clothes & underwear – can be kept in cubby
Running shoes – while sandals may be worn, they must have straps that secure the sandal to the foot. For safety reasons flip-flops & Crocs are only allowed during water play
Bathing suit, water shoes, towel – Water days are indicated on the trip prep, arrive wearing swimsuit under clothes, however be prepared for spontaneous water play every day
Bottle of sunscreen, already applied. An extra bottle of non-aerosol sunscreen must be labelled and kept at the daycare for application later in the day
On rainy days bring a rain coat and boots (we are outside rain or shine)
Back pack – children will be carrying their own lunch when we go on trips

Alternative Summer Plans
As we get closer to the summer, our planned activities and trips may have to be changed without notice. While we will make every effort to adhere to the calendar and times, we need to be sensitive to air quality, weather conditions or other factors, such as staff/child ratios, that may affect the safety of the children. Besides the obvious rain and thunderstorms, we also consider extreme smog alerts and heat advisories. In addition, we must also respond to any emergencies that arise. There are alternative trips available and we will switch to these when necessary.

Our JK program offers care before and after school on regular instructional days;
and full day care on PA days and school breaks.

Our regular hours of operation are 7:30am-6:00pm.

Morning drop off during regular school days is between 7:30am-8:30am at the JK room.
The children go outside to the kindergarten playground at 8:35am.

If your child is not attending morning daycare, they are to be dropped off to their classroom teacher in the kindergarten playground at 8:45am.

On regular school days children bring their own lunch and eat in their classroom supervised by TDSB staff.
On school PA days and holiday breaks, the daycare offers full day care and a catered lunch (menu here ).
