Please review our camp policies and procedures below.

Agreements to our policies and procedures are confirmed during the registration process, along with permissions for trip participation.

Camp policies are in addition to policies in our Parent Handbook.

Appropriate Gear for Summer Camp
The children are very active in the summer and their clothing and footwear need to allow for safe and comfortable play. Running shoes are required every day. While sandals may be worn, they must have straps that secure the sandal to the foot. For safety reasons flip-flops & Crocs are only allowed during water play.

T-shirts, shorts and a hat are required every day. Hats can be left in their cubby for daily use.  Depending on the day’s activities, children will also need to bring/wear a swimsuit, towel, water bottle, water shoes and a knapsack.

Sunscreen is required every day and must be applied in the morning before dropping off your child.  An extra bottle of sunscreen must be labelled and kept at the daycare for application later in the day. Please do not bring aerosol sunscreen, it is not permitted in the school. On days when your child is going on a trip where they may be exposed to mosquitoes, you may send mosquito repellent. Please label everything.

Families with children going into grades 1-6 , and returning to daycare September 2026,

are required to register for a minimum of 2 weeks per child.

The minimum 2-week registration requirement may be distributed among siblings. Families may allocate weeks across children in any combination, such as three weeks for one child and one week for another,

or all four weeks for one child. (As long as registration total of 2 weeks per child.)

Families may opt out of summer attendance and pay a fee to maintain their daycare spot.

This fee equals the cost of the shortest week and the longest week on the summer camp calendar.

Registrations are based on the grade your child will be in for September 2026.

Camp runs from Thursday July 2 to Thursday September 3

The weekly fee is $375.  Pro-rated as required

The daycare will be closed on Monday August 3 for the Civic holiday,

and closed Friday September 4 for fall prep.

Alternative Summer Plans
You have reviewed our summer calendars with the planned trips and activities. These activities and trips may have to be changed without notice. While we will make every effort to adhere to the calendar and times, there may be issues with vendor availability.

We also need to be sensitive to air quality, weather conditions or other factors, such as staff/child ratios, that may affect the safety of the children. Besides the obvious rain and thunderstorms, we also consider extreme smog alerts and heat advisories. In addition, we must also respond to any emergencies that arise. There are alternative trips available and we will switch to these when necessary.

Hours of Operation and Arrival Times
The Daycare hours are 7:30am to 6:00pm.  Daily sign in is between 7:30am-9:00am.  Sign out is between 4:00pm-6:00pm.  Some trips require drop off prior to 9:00am and some return later than 4:00pm. These specific trip return times are noted on the calendars & trip prep form.

Drop off by 9:00am, or earlier, is required, especially on trip days. Families will face delays in entering the building after 9:00am, as the buzzer system is not actively monitored by staff after 9:00am.

If your child arrives after 9:00am, or after the specified early arrival time, they often have difficulty adjusting and may miss out on the scheduled activities and safety talk. In addition, latecomers disrupt the children and the program already in progress. Caregivers must drop children off to their program room with all items needed and must always check in with staff before leaving the room.  This is required for attendance verification and safety reasons.  Please do not send your child into the school unattended.

In accordance with our Safe Arrival and Dismissal Policy, families must let the daycare know by 9:00am if your child will be absent or late.  Please call the daycare room directly.  On early arrival days calls prior to the early arrival time are required.

The daycare number is 416-466-8715:
Room 105 – Grade 1 &2  ext 223
Room 101 – Grades 3-6 ext 224

Before we leave the building we ensure that all children are dressed appropriately and are thoroughly prepared for the trip. We take safety very seriously.  If your child is late and misses the trip preparation and safety discussion, they will NOT be allowed to go on the trip, even if they arrive before the group departs.
Families must make alternative arrangements for children who arrive late as no care will be provided.  A refund will not be issued.

If your child is unable to fully participate in the camp program for any reason, i.e. due to an illness, then you must make other arrangements for care until they are able to return and participate in the scheduled program. A refund will not be provided.

Children must be dropped off and picked up at Jackman.

Trip location drop off and pick-ups are not permitted.

Refund Policy

Please note, no refunds will be provided after June 30, 2026, for current families.

For current families - June 30th Deadline: All cancellations, changes & withdrawals must be submitted in writing. Cancellations received by June 30th will receive a refund.  Cancellations received after June 30th are subject to the full fee and will not be refunded. All changes are subject to a 20% administration fee and availability.

Community registration - all payments are final, no refunds

We have found this policy necessary due to financial losses incurred when programs are cancelled on short notice.  We invest in equipment, staffing and utilize many resources prior to the start date of your session and in most cases these costs are irrecoverable.  Despite program waitlists, filling vacancies on short notice is difficult, resource intensive and most often results in significant lost opportunity costs.
